Working with Scott Dasse

I combine brand design and brand engineering: generative identities, design tools, and systems that create motion and visual assets. I build tokenized brand identities and design systems that enable client teams to create with AI while keeping their work coherent.

I’ve provided creative direction for all the brands seen on this site. But I’ve also been a hands on designer for most of them. My past work includes brand strategy and identity design, website and app design, editorial platforms, art direction, and campaign creative.

I drew logos for Vanderbilt.
I wrote and designed brand standards for Nike.
I developed the app strategy and design for VOGUE.
I designed the homepage for MIT.
I led digital innovation for Steelcase.
I built a generative brand system for RPI.

I offer design projects, strategic consulting, and fractional leadership. My main interest is creative work, especially where brand and technology meet. That might mean creating a new brand or evolving an existing one, building a generative identity system or a design tool, redesigning a website, developing a digital product or an experience built around AI, or inspiring your team with creative direction.

Beyond projects, my fractional leadership work includes creative direction, team shaping, mentorship, and executive counsel. I built the award-winning teams at Boston University and Upstatement, and I advise clients on their talent structures and workflows.

I blur the lines between strategy, design, engineering, and content. I believe in making early, prototyping experimentally, and working in the open with my partners. I like to design live, so whenever we meet, we can solve problems together on the fly. I take a human-first approach and use technology to go bigger, not to cut corners.

You'll work directly with me. If it's a big project like a large-scale website redesign, I can assemble the right team from my network of collaborators.

I'm based in Boston and frequently in New York, but I work with clients all over the world. I can start from a brief or a conversation. We can collaborate in Figma or directly in a codebase. I can lead your team, or I can contribute alongside them.
